Pss. xviii., xxi., baci., ci., ciii., and cxvi. PROPHETIC ANTICIPATION.-Voices the praise of restored Israel in a coming day. Brought out of their low estate· and delivered from the wrath of her enemies the nation confesses what God has done and what He will yet do. PERSONAL APPLICATION.-Thanksgiving should be wholehearted (1). In fo)fi11ing His promises God also reveals Himself (2). A cry in the hour of distress may not meet immediate deliverance, but always shall strength be given. God is always within earshot (3). Scripture oft reiterates in one form or another the truth that God regards the humble and resists the proud, c£ Jas. iv. 6! Though we may walk in the midst of trouble, God will "preserve us alive" (7). What He commences He always completes (8) . VERSE NOTES r.
